Novu 2015. godinu čestitaju EFPA i predsjednik dr. Robert A.Roe

Poštovane kolegice, poštovani kolege,

U nastavku vijesti donosimo novogodišnju čestitku koju nam je uputila EFPA i predsjednik dr. Robert A. Roe (u engleskom izvorniku):

Dear colleagues,

I am writing you from Brussels to greet you and send the best wishes of EFPA at the start of the New Year. With the year 2014 just having come to an end, I notice with satisfaction that we have become more effective in our collaboration, that our voice is being heard more often – in Europe and abroad – and that the contributions psychology has to offer are increasingly recognized and called for.
All this is due to the hard work of many colleagues across Europe, including the members of EFPA's Boards, Standing Committees and Task Forces, and of the excellent staff in the Head Office, who I would all like to thank heartily for their efforts. I should also mention the newly established Operational Support Network, which I see as an engine putting additional power behind everything we do.
A great achievement of 2014 has been the decision of the General Assembly to strengthen the financial base of EuroPsy and scale-up EFPA's commitment to this project. Thanks to the strong support of the Member Associations, we will now be able to turn EuroPsy into the publicly recognized standard of qualification for all psychologists in Europe that is should be, rather than maintaining it as a mark of distinction for few. I am confident that in the long term EuroPsy will not only benefit the psychologists of Europe, but above all their clients and society as a whole.

The year 2015 comes with new opportunities and challenges for European psychology.
A first objective is having a new marketing campaign for EuroPsy. It shall add value for qualified psychologists, establish EuroPsy as a standard for newly graduating psychologists, and make it known with the public. Then in July we will have the European Congress in Milan, Italy, taking place in the framework of the World Exhibition EXPO 2015. The congress will not only be an exciting meeting place for European psychology, it will also give us a chance to demonstrate the relevance of psychology in the domains of food, consumption and nutrition – which are at the heart of the EXPO.
Furthermore, we are all looking forward to the first 'European Semester in Psychology' in the second half of the year, which will make Portugal the host for many of our meetings, and present Portuguese psychology to the rest of Europe.

I expect to see many more European initiatives, including a project to make psychology part of secondary education throughout Europe – currently being prepared by the Board of Educational Affairs. We are also working hard on developing our international relationships at the level of the United Nations and through direct collaboration with psychologists' organizations in regions which were formerly colonized by Europe and which are entitled to our support. Like our colleagues in other continents we see a huge challenge in growing global intolerance, violence and extremism, and are looking for a chance to contribute to de-escalation of current conflicts and prevention of prejudice, radicalization and cruelty.

My wish is that in 2015 European psychology can make itself useful in turning the world into a better place for all.
